Hi, I’m the Study Coordinator for a new study that is being done by Dr. Teresa Liu-Ambrose at the Aging, Mobility, and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at VGH and UBC. For the study, we are just starting to recruit participants, and are looking for people who have had a stroke at least 12 months ago. The study is a year in length, and we are seeing how either an exercise program intervention or a cognitive and social enrichment program can benefit people with chronic stroke. We are looking for people who have had: - One stroke at least 12 months ago - Have experienced some memory or cognitive issues as a result of the stroke - Can walk at least 6 meters independently (assistive devices such as braces, cane, and walkers are okay) - Can speak, understand, and read English - Are able to attend free 1 hour classes twice weekly at VGH As we are looking for sources of recruitment right now, I thought that the Stroke Recovery Association may be a great avenue. Can we come and give a talk about the study to answer questions of anyone who is interested?
