The Cold Water Ranch Lodge will be constructed at the Cold Water Ranch, which is located 20 minutes west of Merritt, BC. The Abilitas Foundation is coordinating the development and construction of both a fully accessible lodge and camp sites. Individuals with disabilities can bring their family, friends or personal support and use these facilities at NO CHARGE."

Accommodation:
The Cold Water Ranch Lodge will offer fully accessible respite accommodation at no charge to people with disabilities and their families and/or support staff. The lodge can be used for free by disability organizations as well. The Cold Water Ranch Lodge is scheduled to open its doors in the late summer of 2010.

Accessible Features
The Cold Water Ranch Lodge will be a fully accessible lodge with lift systems in all bedrooms and private bathrooms. Through research, our surveys, and through collaboration with various disability organizations in BC, Abilitas is committed to making the Cold Water Ranch Lodge fully accessible. The Abilitas Foundation will provide commodes, handrails, grab bars, accessible sinks and much more to ensure the complete accessibility of our lodge to various
disabilities. The lodge will also feature an industrial quality kitchen with accessible appliances, counters, sinks and cook tops. The Cold Water Ranch Lodge is designed to be a spacious lodge of approximately 10,000 sq ft. Perched on top of a mountain - calm, yet not isolated - the lodge overlooks the valley stretching out below and offers panoramic views of the mountain range surrounding the ranch. It will accommodate 24 individuals, either as part of a disability organization or as a family. Each family that will use the lodge will have private access to a wheel-in shower as well as an accessible bath tub.
